‘Escaping’ from home to live in a village in France may not be as ideal as it sounds
Australian language teacher Henrietta Taylor had the perfect husband, family and home. But then disaster struck, leaving her a bereft widow with two small children and little idea of how to look after them - or herself. Searching for an escape, she heads off with her children to France. In a tiny village in Provence, Veuve (Widow) Taylor, finds new friends, a role as the owner of three charming guesthouses, and an unorthodox relationship with a Latin Lover. This heartbreaking true story takes you through the horrible stages of her husband’s death then to France where you hope for her sake things pick up which they do in some ways but Henrietta’s life just seems to be fraught with tragedy which is often self-inflicted unfortunately. In thesoonto be released sequel, Lavender and Linen, we look forward to reading how Henrietta’s life improves as she becomes older and wiser, making sense of her erratic life.
