Peter Mayle and his wife dreamt of having a life in Provence. They moved into an old farmhouse at the foot of the Luberon Mountanins between Avignon and Aix. This was the beginning of their year in Provence. In his account of this year he describes everything in a very humorous way from the local cuisine, working with french building contractors to enduring a cold winter.
