There are many variety of these including two owned by the Accor group:

• ETAP meaning stop in French, probably the best of the chains 
• Formula One found worldwide but high concentration in France.

Both offer consistent, modern, clean and budget (around 35 euro per room per night) accommodation normally found near transport routes and chain places to eat in cities and major towns. The facilities include all hours check-in machines and breakfast rooms. They are good if you are on a budget and are travelling by car especially if you just need somewhere to sleep for the night. You certainly save on the parking fees and traffic hastles of staying in centre ville.
